Donley County Crash Claims Life Of Amarillo Man
A three vehicle crash in Donley County in the early hours of Friday morning claimed the life of an Amarillo man.
It happened just after 1 Friday morning when a 2016 Nissan Frontier driven by 68-year-old Robert Allen Hill was traveling in the wrong direction of US 287. 61-year-old Gustavo Nunez Perez also from Amarillo attempted to avoid Hill’s vehicle. Perez, driving a Ford F-350 pickup and pulling a trailer, struck Hill’s truck almost head-on. Hill’s pickup caught fire.
A third vehicle entered the scene, unable to avoid debris and crashed into Perez’s truck and trailer.
Hill was pronounced dead at the scene. Perez and the driver of the third car, Sean Blake Wolfe, 26 of Amarillo, were not injured.
That crash was investigated by the Texas Highway Patrol.
