RCSO Inmate Found Unresponsive Dies At Local Hospital
According to a release from the Randall County Sheriff’s Department, Shaylee Rachels was found unresponsive in her cell by correctional officers just after 6:45 Friday morning. Medical staff immediately initiated life-saving measures before Rachels was transported by ambulance Northwest Texas Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
In accordance with Randall County Sheriff’s Office policies and procedures, the Texas Commission on Jail Standards and the Texas Rangers were notified. An autopsy is scheduled for today in Lubbock.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Texas Rangers.
