McCarty Indicted On Drug & Weapon Charges, Faces Life In Prison
51-year-old Mason Allan McCarty has been indicted on federal drug charges after having been accused of selling an estimated $1.2 million of meth in Amarillo.
U.S. Northern District Attorney of Texas Ryan Raybould announced a federal grand jury indicted McCarty July 23 on charges of:
- possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine
- felon in possession of a firearm
- possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime
He was charged after APD officers found meth and two weapons in McCarty’s motel room June 30. He was taken into custody at that time. Federal officials took custody of him July 13.
McCarty faces a possible sentence of life in prison.
