Amarillo City Council Tuesday Meeting Recap
The Amarillo City Council on Tuesday voted 5-0 to approve a resolution adopting the 26/27 Annual Action Plan for Community Development Block Grand and HOME Investment Partnership Programs. They discussed the fiscal year 26/27 budget status update, heard a recap on the Amarillo Parks & Recreation’s Red, White and Boom Independence Day Celebration, they listened to proposed changes to the City of Amarillo’s Organizational Structure, heard updates to the Board and Commission appointments process and discussed the Environmental Health’s Proposed On-Site Sewage Facility Ordinance.
City Council recognized the Water and Sewer team for their exceptional response to two critical summer incidents. Through quick action, teamwork, and expertise, staff resolved a low-level chlorine leak and restored water service following a major water main break, protecting public health and minimizing impacts to critical facilities. The Council made a proclamation to recognize the 75th Anniversary of Wonderland Park.
