One Person Killed In I-40/Arnot Road Accident
One person was killed and two injured Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle accident at I-40 and Arnot Road. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Harley-Davidson Road Glide driven by 38-year-old Kyle Edward Blazer of Chillicothe, Ohio, was traveling westbound on the south frontage road of I-40. A 2016 Ford Fusion driven by 69-year-old Keith Wayne Thomas of Kokomo, Indiana was traveling eastbound on the south frontage road and merging onto I-40 via the on-ramp. According to Cindy Barkley with the DPS, Mr. Blazer failed to yield right of way at the yield sign and was struck by the Ford, throwing the rider from the motorcycle. Mr. Blazer was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mr. Thomas and a 17-year-old male passenger in his vehicle were transported to BSA Hospital with minor injuries, where they were treated and released. The Texas Highway Patrol is investigating this crash.
