Amarillo Fire Department Helps In South Texas
This past week, several members of The Amarillo Fire Department deployed to South Texas to assist communities impacted by devastating flooding. According to Jason Love with the AFD, their first responsibility is always to the citizens of Amarillo, but they are also part of a statewide network of first responders committed to helping one another in times of crisis.
These deployments enhance the AFD’s own preparedness by giving personnel valuable experience during large-scale incidents. They also reinforce the strong mutual aid relationships that ensure communities across Texas, including Amarillo, can rely on one another when disaster
strikes. Many state-wide Fire Departments responded to the Texas Panhandle during recent Wildfires.
