AFD Responds To Saturday House Fire, Seven Puppies Saved
Amarillo Fire Department responded to a structure fire Saturday at a residence on North Forest Street. At the scene, firefighters found a working fire involving the attached garage of the home.
Crews brought the fire under control, conducted a primary search, and completed overhaul operations to ensure the fire had not extended into the main residence.
Firefighters and Amarillo Medical Services paramedics rescued seven puppies suffering from smoke inhalation. Care was provided on scene, and all seven puppies recovered.
No injuries were reported, damages are still being assessed. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
